[ Okay she's definitely confused now. She lets go and looks a little sulky now. She mutters her response and goes back to leaning against the queue post, away from him. ]

[ Emerald, are all of the times the two of you going to do something nasty going to be in public?? Akashi's trying his best not to think about Emerald being an "animal"... It's not going well. ]

Don't get upset. I already said not here. [ He should be the one upset that she's sulking when he implied he wasn't comfortable with the idea??? ] If you had continued, we'd have to cut the date short.

[ It's not just this, she just feels like she's screwing up at every turn today and Sanguis is making it way harder for her to not get frustrated by it. Except she's getting frustrated at herself more than Akashi. She didn't like the first ride, then the coaster she loved but it made Akashi sick. He had fun on the bumper cars, but the conversation turned to yet another one of her ideas about what she could do with her life being rejected. Her game fell flat, then Akashi rejected her flirting and wouldn't let her hold him. It feels like she's just messing everything up and that's why she's sulking, even if her grumbling is directed at the most recent thing. ]

I'm not upset, just tell me what you want to ride after the log flume. --I want you to pick.

[ Emerald needs him to just make the decisions for a little while so she can stop being annoyed at herself that she keeps making things bad happen. ]

I don't want to go on another ride after this. I was hoping to go to the arcade.

[ There should be one... So he'd like to go there if she's amenable to the idea.

Also, she's definitely upset. He walks over to her and takes her hand if she'll let him. The attendants are signalling for them to leave their bags in a basket on a table, and some of the other people in line start doing it. He motions for Emerald to do the same before he talks to her again. ]

Do you just want to eat somewhere after this and head back? We don't have to go to famous dating spots or do what other couples do.

[ He wanted to try it, admittedly, but if she's upset, then maybe his decision isn't working as well as he thought he would. ]

[ She goes along with it, holding his hand and putting her things in the basket before heading over to the logs to start boarding. ]

I want to do whatever you want to do. I'm sorry I keep screwing everything up, let's do what you had planned.

[ That gets him to chuckle softly. He kisses her on the forehead as soon as they're signalled to get on the log. They can either sit together in the back or one of them sits in front while another person sits at the back. ]

Things aren't supposed to be perfect, especially when it's our first time going on a date.

[ She's going to sit in the back with him so he can wrap his arms around her if he wants. At this one she isn't going to ask for it, though. ]

There's a huge area in between perfect and making you reject what I'm doing every five minutes that I'm completely missing.

[ She just folds her hands in her lap, like she's trying to behave now. ]

Then maybe the problem is me.

[ Which... he'll think on later on. Their log begins to move and he realises that they don't have any seatbelts on this?? There are handles on the side though, and as he looks around, he spots that the ride goes up and there's a slide. People are holding onto the handles, so he supposes that's all the protection they'll have, should they need it in the first place.

So yes, he does wrap his arms around her. ]

I'll be your seatbelt.

It's not.

[ She leaves it at that though since the ride is starting, and at the very least him holding her like she wanted without her asking helps her feel better. His dorky declaration makes her smile. She'll hold into the rail for the two of them then. ]

I've never heard of a smooth seatbelt, but I like it so it works for you.

[ She leans back against him as the log moves through some rapids that shake the log back and forth. Compared to the roller coaster it's tame though. ]

[ There's two slides. One's double the height of the first one, and as they pass the first, his hold on Emerald tightens. Maybe Akashi's just not meant for these kinds of rides? Who knows. He's not scared though, but it's more like he has to because he has to hold onto something...

Does Emerald get wet from all the water when they go down? Who knows, but Akashi's hair and his shirt certainly get soaked. ]

[ Emerald isn't bothers by the drops at all, and she actually rather likes how Akashi holds onto her. It lets her feel like she's the one grounding him and keeping him safe, plus chroma and warmth and trust.

And he definitely kept her back dry too, though her front is pretty sprinkled on. She lets out a laugh as the splash settles. They're headed right toward a waterfall! The second slide is on the other side of it, but they have to go through that first. There's no way not to get wet. ]

[ He's breathing heavily once they're back down and headed to the waterfall. That was suspenseful!! But he doesn't say anything about it because he doesn't want her to bring any attention to it, either. ]

This ride is going to get us sick. We'll need to change immediately after this.

We're not going to get sick! It's just water!

[ Famous last words.

Unexpectedly, the drop is immediately after the waterfall so it's impossible to see coming!! Emerald even let's out a yelp as they suddenly start sliding down an even bigger dip than the first one! ]

We're— ah! [ He doesn't shout, because he only shouts during an intense basketball game (thank you, Kagami Taiga) but he does hold onto Emerald a little tighter. Too tight, in fact, and he's burying his face on the crook of her neck as they go down.

It makes for a weird photo, to be sure. ]

[ She's giggling by the end, and her eyes are closed in the picture as she smiles. It's a different kind of thrill than the loopy coaster but it's definitely fun. Her hair and clothes are clinging to her by the bottom of the second drop, and they're turning around to head back into the station. She's definitely going to want a picture. ]

You okay back there?

[ Has she seen him before with his hair not fluffy...

He lets her go now that they're back at the station and waits for her to get up and off first before he does. He wants to be dry. :( ]

I didn't even know there was another slide already. That came out of nowhere.
