Since they're close, he looks at his pants, then at Em. They should be fine. Their car is opened from the outside a minute later and they're asked to get down. A technician apologises for the inconvenience but Akashi just smiles at them while he takes Emerald's hand. ]

I saw a food stall nearby.

[ She's walking practically shoulder-to-shoulder with him now, fingers laced with his. Her thumb is rubbing his hand while they walk. She wants to be touchy right now and can't so this is the best she can get. ]

Lead the way.

[ They get to the stall and it's one that sells hotdogs and drinks like soda and slushies. There's even a couples cup with a heart-shaped loop straw.

He looks at Emerald with a smile on his face. He points at the couples cup. ]

Do you want this?

[ He wants to be gross... ]

[ What an embarrassing cup.. ]

You obviously do. It depends on what you want to put in it.

[ She wants soda, not something healthy.. ]

What about a rootbeer float?

[ A little outrageous of an order for Akashi, but today is a day to celebrate!! So he decides to cheat his regimen a little. (A Lot.) ]

How about root beer with no ice cream?

[ She just wants drink... ]

That's fine.

[ He wants the cup!!! So he nods at the server since they already heard Akashi's order, anyway. He then looks at the menu to see if there's anything else to order... he wants to try the pretzel bites. They look cute and tasty? ]

Cream cheese pretzel bites too, please.

[ He hopes that's okay with Em... ]

Cream cheese? I've only had the kind with queso. That sounds good.

[ She wants to try. As long as she gets her soda she's happy. ]

I've never tried either. We'll try it together.

[ Except the person has to heat their food first, so they're asked to sit down. The rootbeer gets served right away though, with the cute straws included.

He looks at her expectantly. They should take a sip together!! ]

This entire date depends on whether or not the cream cheese pretzels are delicious now. Are you ready to stake it all?

[ She's just teasing him and the grin on her lips as she leans forward to sip, but waits for him to get there too, should indicate as much. ]

Will we go home if it's not delicious?

[ ... Look. You win some, you lose some. And he at least waits for her reaction before moving his lips closer to the straw. He gives her a nod, a signal that they can start drinking! But he'll really just take a sip and the rest of the drink is hers... ]

No, but I'm going to win you the weirdest prize I can find instead of something you actually want.

[ She takes a bigger sip. She mostly wanted the soda after all, but she breaks off with a laugh. ]

That was so cheesy.

If I'm weird, then the weirdest prize would be what I want.

[ :)!! He's laughing too, though. ]

Is that a bad thing?

That's why I'm not arguing against the couples cup.

[ Definitely weird to her. But it's cute too. ]

No. A little embarrassing to drink it like that though. I feel like I'm going to press my nose against yours.

I think our noses are small enough for that to be avoided.

[ Emerald only has a dot for a nose, after all. ]

Move closer to me? [ He pats the seat next to him when he asks Emerald to move. He wants to kiss her!! ]

I want to try it anyway.

[ She moves over next to him, but rather than taking his lips, she leans in to try to rub her little button nose against his. ]

[ Akashi's laughing by the end of it, and he wraps an arm around Emerald's waist to pull her close and give her a quick kiss on the lips. ]

I love you.

[ God, he's so happy. Happy-giddy. He's never actually felt like this before. That's not an exaggeration. ]

[ She gives him a soft kiss on the cheek, then leans against him. ]

Is it too soon to assume you'll go out on a second date with me?

[ He's joking, of course. ]

Aren't you supposed to wait a couple of days and refuse to text me so you don't look clingy?

[ She laughs. She's joking too. She presses a kiss to his cheek. ]

Am I clingy?

[ He doesn't think he is... He just likes being close to her. He hopes she finds nothing wrong with that. ]

That's a thing guys do after first dates supposedly. According to tv anyway. I don't think you're clingy, but if you are I like it. I'm clingy too.

[ in case he didn't notice back when she literally made things cling to him back in empatheias. Oops. ]

[ Their food gets served soon after, a small plateful of pretzel bites with cream cheese filling. It should be good! A little oily, and Akashi even wrinkles his nose when he picks up a piece and feels the oil.

Ah well. Can't have it all. Besides, it's cheat day! But since it's the first bite, he offers it to Emerald to eat. ]

[ She opens her mouth. Feed her. ]

Ahhhh.

This is a lucky pretzel. You'll end up liking it as soon as you take a bite.

[ What is he saying... he puts it closer to her mouth so she can eat it, anyway. ]
