[ She can't even stop herself from mildly bullying Akashi all the time. Nice isn't a word she would use to describe herself. ]

A lot of people make that mistake when they first meet me. I'm not surprised.

You've changed, you know. You're not the same person from when we first met.

[ Some parts definitely haven't changed, but it's nice to see Emerald more happy and more trusting of people. He shifts a little in his seat so he can wrap his arm around Emerald's waist and pull her close to him. ]

I suppose it wouldn't be right to say you're very nice, but you've learned to work with others and socialise. Don't you think that's an improvement?

I already knew how to do that, I just don't like to when there's nothing to gain out of it. It's annoying because I know most people wouldn't do the same for me if I needed it. Offering real help is more inconvenient than anyone's willing to put themselves out for when it comes down to it, and knowing that makes it hard to want to be genuinely "nice" to anyone.

[ She sits up a little bit after he pulls her closer, only because she's feeling a little awkward. ]

But I guess I'm less.. angry about that, than I used to be.

[ It's more like.. she's found that it's not true of everyone, so she's more willing to take a chance. She's more willing to forgive the general world because of people like Akashi and Mayuzumi. ]

That's an improvement.

I've changed a little, too. I think... I'm a lot more relaxed now compared to how I was before. Do you agree?

[ He seems to think so, anyway! Parts of it are good and parts of it are... well, maybe good, too. He was just too uptight before. ]

Yeah. Braver, too.

[ He really caught her off guard when he wanted to go to Amegahara even though it could be dangerous, after how he reacted back in Empatheias when they were cornered by the rebels. ]

I— I wouldn't say that.

[ He looks away and proceeds to finish his steak. There's just a small piece left! ]

We had problems in the GIGAs and there were monsters on the way and your didn't hesitate. I thought you had turned yourself away from exploring and adventuring completely. You're braver, even if you don't see it.

[ Akashi thinks about it for a moment before he rests his head on hers. ]

I suppose, if that's how you see it. I don't really know what spurred me to go, really. We're in a different environment now, so I thought it would be okay.

Unknown is way scarier than something you know and can plan for.

[ She smiles softly and enjoys the feeling of good head against hers. He's taller when they sit because her heels don't do anything sitting, she notes. ]

[ :T so there!!! He doesn't really see himself as someone brave when frets and worries about so many things... ]

But I'm glad you see me that way.

[ Being brave doesn't mean you don't fret and worry, it means you don't stop yourself from acting because of frets and worries! And Akashi has gotten better at that, she thinks. At least a little. ]

Doesn't that just mean you find strength in us? There's nothing wrong with that.

[glorifies]

[ She's not wrong. Akashi feels his chest sink a little. ]

Mm, it does. I can't imagine being in this world without you or Mayuzumi-san, either.

[ He'd be so devastated.

Anyway... they're done eating. Akashi wants to rest for a few more minutes before getting up, but he signals for the waiter to get them their bill. ]

[ Her either. She really doesn't know what she would do if she lost either of them... She doesn't want to think about it.

She also just wants to take a nap cuddled up against Akashi's arm like the poster child for PDA. ]

Can we just stay here and nap? I don't want to move.

[ He honestly wouldn't mind if she wanted to go home now and just lay in bed and talk about stuff. ]

Didn't you say you were going to win me a prize?

I will! But I ate too much, I don't want to move right now.

[ She wants to be like that possum but Akashi is the pastries. He's the only sweetie she needs?

But she does force herself to sit up after she says that, with a small grumble in her throat. ]

We can rest for a while, then. It won't hurt anyone if we stay here longer.

[ He wants to sit and be next to her too! It's all good, Em. ]

[ Then she just wraps both of her arms around his and nuzzles his shoulder. ]

I'm a little sleepy.

[ He ate too much :( ]

I love your date plan for us, but what if we go home and snuggle and then I take you to an arcade tonight and win you whatever prize you want?

[ She squeezes his arm a little, pressing herself against him. ]

[ That's honestly very tempting, and Akashi does feel that going home and just being close would be just as enjoyable as playing games in an arcade. It's their first date, it's supposed to be memorable and fun, but their relationship isn't exactly how most couples are. They were friends first and have gone through so much together. The romantic aspect in their relationship popped up all of a sudden, but... maybe it was meant to be like that in the first place? ]

Are you asking me on a date after our first date?

[ He laughs softly at his own... well, joke. ]

I don't mind, though. Maybe we can take a cab going back. Is that fine with you?

We have a lot of dates to catch up on, I'm just helping us along.

[ She's not even denying it. Second date here they come!! ]

Yeah, let's do that. We can sit here until it gets here, right?

I'll have to go out and hail one.

[ It's not like a cab will just magically find itself there!! Akashi also doesn't know of Luber. (Lunatia Uber.) ]

[ Emerald lifts her legs up to put them over his. Blocked! ]

I'll get it, you old fashioned nerd. No one's going to stop because you hail them...

[ You just call a taxi... Emerald takes her phone out and starts calling them a ride. ]

[ Do you think he's ever ridden a cab before!!! ]

What are you doing?

[ She doesn't know! She's never seen him in his natural world to know that he has a private car!! ]

Calling a car and locking you in to prevent you from doing something weird.
