Back in Empatheias, I asked someone long before we were romantic not to talk to them about me. I asked him to trust me and had to rely on that. There's no way you can actually stop them from talking even if you can get them to agree to leave you alone on a personal level so you just have to trust him to trust you. But you have to be the one to tell him either way even if you postpone it, or he'll know he can't trust you.
It sounds super cheesy and annoying but I've had a few people I've told who accepted me anyway.

She didn't tell him upfront so much as described herself and then he figured out who she was talking about, then the truth came from there.

I found out a guy I'm sort of into hangs out with team RWBY. Now I'm worried he's going to find out from one of them that I was their enemy.
I mean I'll do whatever I want, but there's nothing worth fighting them for here so it'd suck to lose that over something from back on Remnant.
