And instead of giving the clothes to her, though, he places them on Emerald's side of the bed before he heads back to dress up. ]
[ He says it softly like it's a secret he's been keeping for some time now. He's not into sweets, but he does enjoy hot chocolate from time to time. It's a comfort drink of sorts. ]
I'll prepare it, then. Please get some rest.
[ And Emerald should do as he says. Mom will take care of her!!!! ]
[ What an ominous yes. She's not really tired in the sense of being sleepy, but she knows Akashi will enough by now to know when he wants to be close to her, he tries to take care of her. And she.. really likes it, honestly, so she stays in bed. ]
[ It doesn't take long to get the water ready and then mix in the chocolate. He prepares it the way he likes it—thick and creamy with a little salt. It's not too sweet, but not too bitter either.
Once he's done, he heads back up to his bedroom and with two mugs. He figures he may as well drink, too.
He sets the mugs down on his bedside table before he slips under the sheets and rests his back on the bedrest. ]
Sit up. The chocolate will spill.
[ He hands her hug mug soon after. It smells nice! ]
[ She says it jokingly, sitting up and scooting to the end of the bed. The bottom of the T-shirt is tied so that the shirt fits her a little better. Her butt is bare and she tugs the blanket to keep it over her bottom half. Then she accepts her drink and goes to take a sip. ]
Yes. This particular mix, specifically. I was curious because there was a merchant who offered me a cup at the grocery. It was good, so I bought an entire canister.
[ This is the child whose sugar intake has always been controlled. ]
The man said I should add a little salt, so I do whenever I prepare a cup.
I can see why, since you don't like sweet that much. Cinnamon is good to balance it too since cinnamon is actually bitter.
[ She likes cinnamon too since she likes things to be a little spicy, but this is good. She takes another sip, licking her lips to get a bit of chocolate off of them. That feels much better, warmer on the inside too...
She thinks for a moment since this isn't just exhausting physically today probably. At least not for Akashi. ]
Are you okay? That's the first time you've seen her and it wasn't me.
[ The question makes him blink a little more rapidly for a second. He's... admittedly not yet used to people asking how he is. He's supposed to always be okay, to be on top of things and to not show weakness. He's an Akashi, after all. It's Emerald he's with though, so he's found that it's okay to experience all kinds of emotions with her, whether it's positive or negative. She always helps him, so... ]
I'm not really sure how to feel. [ He smiles though, before inching closer to her. His arms stay by his legs, but over the sheets. If he hugged Emerald now, chocolate could end up on his comfort. ] I think I'm okay. It was short-lived, but I got what I wanted.
We didn't get to talk to each other, but I suppose that's better than hearing her call me a disappointment. You got to see her, too. At least, I hope that truly was her.
[ He looks at her before placing a soft kiss to her temple. ]
I'm very fortunate to have you in my life, Emerald. I really am.
[ And he wishes he could express himself properly, show how much she means to him. That's why he wants to take care of her at every chance he gets. Emerald is someone to be treasured. ]
[ He shakes his head before he slips under the sheets even further. He's been careful with making sure the chocolate doesn't spill, but he wants to hold her now. She's all the company he needs right now. Mayuzumi too, of course, but at this moment, Akashi feels very content with having just Emerald by his side. The fact that Mayuzumi is in his life in this way is such a huge bonus, too. ]
I'm fine now. [ She asked him if he's okay, she's here with him now, and she told him she'd do anything for him to be happy and safe. That's more than what he could ever ask for.
Once he's lowered himself enough that his head is on his pillow, he shifts so he can wrap his arms around her waist. ] Thank you.
[ Emerald takes one more sip before setting her own mug aside so she doesn't spill on him. She doesn't scoot down with him, instead placing one hand on his back, gently running her fingers up and down over his shirt between his scapulas. ]
[ For now, he's going to hold her and stay silent. The two of them don't really run out of things to talk about, but right now, Akashi's not really sure what to say. He's tired and all he wants is Emerald's company. ]
Would it be alright if I closed my eyes for a little while?
[ If he falls asleep holding her like that, she won't complain. She's just going to keep rubbing his back softly, enjoying the flow of chroma between them, and most of all just enjoying his presence. She was able to be there for him today when he needed her.. that makes her really happy. ]
[ Akashi huddles closer until his nose touches her side. He's comfortable like this, even if he's acting like a kid right now. It's just Emerald. It's fine if he lets his guard down for a bit. He'll just have to pick up the pieces a little quicker so that she can go back to relying on him again. ]

[ The trickling of Chroma from being close is nice. He really is able to relax, and he closes his eyes soon after to get some rest. ]
[ Emerald likes relying on him, but it's a special feeling right now to have him relying on her. It's rarer and it's not something she really thinks of herself as qualified for all the time. So when he does rely on her like this, she feels confident. Proud of herself and proud that he's able to trust in her despite her long track record of being a diamond in the rough and someone who has no right for anyone to trust her completely.
She can't help but think right now, if they were back on empatheias, they might be floating in the air right now, warm as could be, because of how happy she is in this moment, both because of Akashi and with herself. There would be flowers all over the floor, unable to be contained because right now she just feels love and affection and happiness. ]
